"Spring"

Apparently, my mind just thinks in sub-optimal metaphysical-esque conceits now, because I wrote this waiting for "the grown-ups" to get out of their meeting this morning.

spring
10.6.2011

you know those tasks
where you can work for hours
knowing
that at any moment you could stop, and it would be as if you had applied no effort at all?

you'd be back to square one.

like prying a pendant off a stubborn string
or exerting pressure on a spring.

if you pause, the pendant will still be pending and the spring back to where it started.

such was it with you
and back to square one we are.
